When I met first met Penn, we were crewmates on a sailing trip to the Abacos. Neither of us were dealing well with very rough seas on the crossing from Savannah to Walker Cay. We two had to keep a container on standby during our back-to-back watches, and henceforth referred to each other as 'Bucket Brother.' He was a challenging friend, and I will remember him with a smile. God Bless You, Penn. Sincere sympathy to his family. Bobbie V. Cameron

Oh my god!! I loved the day we got stuck in the mud and the coast guard air lifted us to town. Sally Anne had a Barbie lunch box that we ate sandwich's out of. The pilot's flew us over K-mart. So many great memories of Uncle Penn. He taught me and Sally Anne how to drive an old yellow VW Bug on the farm in Statesboro. It was a 5 speed I was scared to death. Sally Anne drove me on the back of her dirt bike and we crashed into the pumpkin patch. And, that same summer Uncle Penn landed his airplane upside down in a corn field. We came out of church and a man came driving up screaming Penn crashed! We drove like bats outta hell and got to the site. Penn just climbed out of his plane and told the farmer he would pay for the corn. Please give your mom my love.

When I heard the news about Uncle Penn, I was shocked. I guess because to me he was always larger than life, and I never allowed myself to think about what it would be like without him. He was a gregarious warm kind man who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him. His colorful stories used to keep me entertained for hours not only as a child, but as an adult as well. My favorite memory about Uncle Penn was sitting on the porch in rocking chairs listening to him weave his magical stories. I loved the Summer in Statesboro my brother Chip and I spent with Uncle Penn, Aunt Sally, & Sally Anne on the farm, many memorable moments. My favorite times were spent on Bona Bella crabbing, swimming and having fun with Uncle Penn, Aunt Sally & Sally Anne!!! I am really going to miss you Uncle Penn~Love Lisa

As one of Penn's 20 first cousins who have remained close all these years, I feel we have lost our leader. Penn was always there for us younger cousins, all the way from our childhood fun on the May River at Bluffton to Tybee Island these past few years. We will miss your humor, your unique way of telling a stroy and your big, generous heart. Say hello to Aunt Kathrine and our moms and dads in heaven. We love you and miss you already. -Chuckie
